You may want to export the certificate to another computer or take a back up for the same.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Exporting_Code_Signing_Certificate_From_Internet_Explorer\"><\/span>Exporting Code Signing Certificate From Internet Explorer<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>1. Open <strong>Tools<\/strong> on the <strong>Internet Explorer<\/strong>. Click on <strong>Internet Options<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/codesigncert.com\/content\/theme1\/img\/blog\/csc_1.png\" alt=\"Internet Explorer - Internet Options\" width=\"312\" height=\"399\" \/><\/p>\n<p>2. Click on <strong>Personal Tab<\/strong> in the <strong>Certificates Window<\/strong>. Select the certificate you want to export. Click <strong>Next<\/strong> on the <strong>Welcome Page<\/strong> on <strong>Certificate Window<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>5. Select <strong>Yes, export private key<\/strong> on the <strong>Export Private Key<\/strong>. Then Click <strong>Next<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/codesigncert.com\/content\/theme1\/img\/blog\/csc_4.png\" alt=\"Internet Explorer - Certificate Export Wizard\" width=\"253\" height=\"246\" \/><\/p>\n<p>6. On the <strong>Export File Formate page<\/strong>, click on <strong>Personal Information Exchange &ndash;PKCS #12(.PFX)<\/strong>. Check the box on <strong> Include all certifications in the certification path if possible <\/strong> . Click on <strong>Next<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/codesigncert.com\/content\/theme1\/img\/blog\/csc_5.png\" alt=\"Internet Explorer - Certificate Export Wizard\" width=\"358\" height=\"348\" \/><\/p>\n<p>7. A <strong>Security page<\/strong> pops up where you may need to enter<strong>Password<\/strong> Twice. Type your password and click on <strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/codesigncert.com\/content\/theme1\/img\/blog\/csc_6.png\" alt=\"Internet Explorer - Certificate Export Wizard\" width=\"333\" height=\"324\" \/><\/p>\n<p>8. For the next step, you are welcomed on <strong>File To Export<\/strong>. Click on <strong>Browse<\/strong> button to select the location where you want to save your code signing certificate. Provide a file name and click on <strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Your files are saved with .pfx extension. Make sure to save the file to the directory to which you have permission.<\/p>\n<p>Click on <strong>Next<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/codesigncert.com\/content\/theme1\/img\/blog\/csc_7.png\" alt=\"Internet Explorer - Certificate Export Wizard\" width=\"364\" height=\"354\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Note: A .pfx file is equivalent to the format as .p12 or PKCS12 file<\/p>\n<p>9. Click <strong>Finish<\/strong> on the <strong>Completing the Certificate Export Wizard<\/strong> page.<\/p>\n<p>10. Click <strong>Ok<\/strong> when you receive &ldquo;the export was successful&rdquo; message.<\/p>\n<p>You can find your Code Signing Certificate in the Destination Directory which you selected in the last step of the wizard .pfx file.<\/p>\n<h3>How To Export Code Signing certificate as a PFX file from Chrome<\/h3>\n<p>1. Open <strong>Chrome<\/strong>. Go To <strong>Settings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/codesigncert.com\/content\/theme1\/img\/blog\/csc_8.png\" alt=\"Chrome Setting\" width=\"213px\" height=\"auto\" \/><\/p>\n<p>2. The <strong>Certificates window<\/strong> pops up. On the <strong>Personal Tab<\/strong>, select your code signing certificate. Click on <strong>Next<\/strong> on the <strong>Certificate Wizard Welcome Page<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>6. Click on <strong>Yes, export the private Key<\/strong> on the <strong>Export Private Key Page<\/strong>. As the <strong>Export File Page<\/strong> opens, select <strong>Personal Information Exchange-PKCS #12 (.PFX)<\/strong>. Check the <strong> Include All Certificates in the certificates path if possible <\/strong> . On the <strong>Certificate Export Wizard<\/strong> page, enter <strong>Password<\/strong>. You may need to enter Password twice for confirmation. The <strong>File to Export<\/strong> page asks you to <strong>Browse<\/strong> and select the location where you want to save your code signing certificate. Provide a file name and click on Save. The File is saved with.PFX extension. The pop-up window shows &ldquo;the export was successful.&rdquo; Click <strong>Ok<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>You can now find your code signing certificate in the Destination Directory with .pfx as an extension name.<\/p>\n<h3>How To Export Code Signing Certificate as a P12 File from Firefox<\/h3>\n<p>1. Open Firefox. Click on Tools. Select <strong>Advanced<\/strong> and click on <strong>Certificates<\/strong> Tab. Click on <strong>Your Certificates<\/strong> tab in the <strong>Certificate Manager<\/strong> Window. Enter the file name in the <strong>File Name to Backup <\/strong>window. Select the location you want to save the code signing certificate and click <strong>on Save<\/strong>.
