Why 3-Year Plans Still Cost Less Under the 1-Year Validity Rule
This trips up most buyers, so it is worth being plain about it.
Certificate validity is now capped at one year. That is a CA/Browser Forum requirement, not a vendor policy, and it applies across every public CA.
What has not changed is the subscription term. You can still buy a 3-year plan for a token or HSM order. The certificate itself is reissued annually against the same order, at no extra cost, for the life of the term.
